| Cast - a new approach for casting |
| In contrast to today's common
centrifugal casting techniques the mould is not mounted at the end of a rotating arm but
at the center of a rotating plate. The centrifugal force needed to fill the mould is
obtained by rotating it along its own axis. An acceleration of up to 500 g is generated
for a homogenous and porous free casting. The melted metal is pourred into the central hole of the already spinning mould filling the cavities in fractions of a second.
Preparations and modelling are as usual, just sprueing is radially to a specially shaped wax-disc. |
